Important Algorithm Changes In Google
Google’s
algorithms are a complex system used to retrieve data from its search index and
instantly deliver the best possible results for a query. The search engine uses
a combination of algorithms and numerous ranking signals to deliver webpages
ranked by relevance on its search engine results pages. From 2011 Google
strictly followed algorithm changes and also made a team the ‘Webspam Team’
which was governed by Matthew Cutts. After the foundation of webspam team a
huge numbers of websites were erased from Google. The first strong algorithm
change was;
PANDA UPDATION (2011)
Panda Updation was developed against content spamming websites. The websites which contains invalid contents gets punished by Google.Ø Content spamming, the website which is using duplicate, copied , invalid contents(plagiarism) or low qualified contents were strictly punished or removed from Google.
Ø Ø Content spinning, meant for repletion of same contents or sentences throughout the
Ø Thin pages means websites which contain more pages do not having contents were eliminated from search engine.
In
2014 Google again introduce the other version of panda updation ‘panda 4.0’,
after insertion of this version millions of webpages get removed from Google
search results. Google attached panda 4.0 as a permanent filter in maintaining
their algorithm.
PENGUINE UPDATION (2012)
The mission of penguin updation to act against link spamming Google tries to avoid link spamming websites from search results. Link exchanges /link sale /link buying etc. are against their policies.Ø Comment
spamming was overly used in webpages at that time. Penguin updation invented
through this spamming websites which has published links in their comment box get
removed from search engine.
Ø Wiki
spamming: at that time Wikipedia can be used by anybody and also they can make
changes in the contents. Also others can easily paste their links and ranked in, Google
find out this unethical issue and punished these websites.
Ø Over
anger text optimization, low qualified links from link building directory,
manipulating links and topic based link building are also punished during
penguin updation. Too much of guest blogging are also punishable element for
Google.
In 2016 penguin update converted into real term, which is the spamming contents or websites get punished in 3or4 hours otherwise during penguin updation.
PIGEON UPDATION (2014)
This upadation focused on local ranking, which is more useful and relevant and accurate local search results that are tied more closely to traditional web search ranking signals.HUMMING BIRD UPDATION (2013)
After introducing these algorithm change Google began to give semantic search results according to the costumer’s enquiries such as ‘how to’, ‘when’, ‘where to’ etc. Google became more interactive and gives deep content wised search results. Also Google focused on feedbacks in giving search results. Humming bird modified in 2015 and introduced a new version ‘Rank Brain’. An extra element artificial intelligence was added, after rank brain Google act like an intellectual person who reads and analyze each of the search results. and also show search trends during a costumer’s enquiry.
MOBILE FRIENDLY UPDATE (2015)
The
major aim of this updation was to reach into each and every person. After
mobile friendly update costumer can easily search from their mobile phone and
get results which is readable without tapping or zooming. Responsive button
size were reliable, avoids unplayable contents and also horizontal scrolling
were removed for costumers.
Other updations
In
2012 Google introduced Park Domain Updation, the websites which is incomplete
or unpublished were saved or parked. Also it is shown in search results in the
early periods. Google removed these kinds spamming website through parked
domain updation.
Exact
Match Domain [EMD] updation: if the site contains the similar focusing keyword and
domain will be get removed from the search results.
